iPhone data security problem

With the development of science and technology, high-tech products become part of our lives. In recent years, necessities in our daily life are more and more intelligent. Apple has been developed rapidly in the tide of high-tech, so did its products, especially iPhone. If someone is an iPhone user and he doesn’t pay much attention to iPhone data security, he will be at risk; at risk of having a Web mail account hacked; at risk of having his online identity stolen; and at risk of losing valuable personal information, such as wireless service account data, and that will finally result in financial losses. The result of Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) survey which involves 2024 data security experts shows that the data security of mobile devices is among the top list of IT security manager’s concern. More than half of respondents said the data security risks of mobile devices are extremely increasing. Thus, users should take actions to protect data in mobile devices. Attentions should be paid to email checking, internet surfing, and contents and services accessing to confirm that Apple iPhone users are doing these things in the safest ways. Do as the following five iPhone security tips say, users can protect data in just a few minutes.

IPhone Security Tip 1: Enable auto-lock.
Auto-lock is one of the most basic iPhone data security functions. Enabling auto-lock, iPhone users can protect data by locking their devices after not being used for a preset time period. IPhone users can choose the locking time from one minute, two minutes, three minutes, four minutes and five minutes. Besides, auto-lock can be disabled all the time. Auto-lock is automatically turned on after initializing, but iPhone users can change the setting in a few steps. Firstly, click the main setting icon. Secondly, tap the General tab. Thirdly, hit the auto-lock. Finally, choose the time period on the screen.

IPhone Security Tip 2: Enable passcode lock.
The passcode lock takes a further step than auto-lock in terms of iPhone data security. Whenever iPhone’s display locks due to auto-lock or users’ hitting of iPhone sleep button – which is on the top right, passcode lock initializes to protect data and a four-digit-code is required when users want to enter the main interface of iPhone. IPhone users should turn passcode clock on by clicking the main iPhone setting icon, hitting general tab, tapping passcode lock and “Turn Passcode On” button. At last, users can enter in a new passcode.

IPhone Security Tip 3: Use Wi-Fi on iPhone in safe way.
One of the most valuable iPhone data security protection functions is that it can support Wi-Fi so faster web browsing and better data coverage can be achieved. In order to protect data in IPhone, users need to make sure the Wi-Fi network is secured by using Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) or another wireless security protocol. All iPhone users can tap the main iPhone Settings icon and then choose Wi-Fi to finish Wi-Fi setting. Disabling Wi-Fi whenever it’s not in use can reduce the chance of accidentally connecting to an unsecured or suspect network and save iPhone battery life.

IPhone Security Tip 4: Use Safari to browse web.
Users’ iPhone data security may be at risk when they use iPhone to surf on the internet. The security settings of iPhone Safari browser are basic, but they won’t hurt iPhone and can make iPhone Safari security settings in order. IPhone users can make sure pop-ups are blocked by checking and modifying Safari browser settings: clicking the main iPhone Settings icon, scrolling down and tapping Safari. IPhone users can protect data by clearing Safari browser’s cookies.

IPhone Security Tip 5: Set up device use restrictions.
In order to protect data and prevent explicit content from being shown on iPhone, parents with little babies or IT administrators are able to set up device use restrictions by clicking the main iPhone Settings icon. After that, tapping the general tab and enable restrictions button to set a four-digit-code, so the specific constraints can be selected.
